Happiness is IT. It is the chemical concoction brewed at the tips of your neurons that makes you feel like everything is ok. Happiness exists as the pinnacle gauge measuring the true success of our lives. A happy man is a successful man; a man without happiness has nothing.
Achieving ultimate happiness differs for everyone. For some, seven zeros in their bank account does the trick; for others, the birth of a newborn son. Whatever the source, we seek the things that make us truly happy and grow addicted to the natural high.
Having lived in New York for the past two years sans family and old friends, my daydream of becoming an iconic artist has proven my drug of choice in acquiring my happiness fix. I’ve grown so addicted in fact, that I’ve lived weeks at home, working 18 hour days towards becoming that iconic artist with hopes that it may one day provide me a source of sustainable happiness. As a result, I’ve neglected the deeper passions in my life… family, friends… love.
These origins of happiness do not run way from you; they are never-changing and true. We may never achieve such a happiness chasing or even living our dreams. When it comes to family and love, our innate hunger for more ceases to exist.
Daydream out loud and chase the things that give your life a sense of purpose. More often than not,
all you need is love.
Never underestimate the power of daydreaming.
